Take a look around and find out more about the rock band Rikoche. Based on the Hibiscus Coast (about half an hours drive north of Auckland) Rikoche has been playing the greater Auckland scene for the last three years covering the land from Papakura to Whangaparaoa. After entering in the 1998 Export Gold Battle Of The Bands Rikoche obviously made an impression by winning there heat and was approached by a Channel Z Disc Jocky. (Channel Z is quickly becoming Aucklands top modern music station on 94.2 FM) A rock/progressive band Rikoche decided to then visit York Street studios to record an E.P. under the watchful eye of engineer Dave McDougall who has also worked recently with bands such as The Feelers and Deep Obsession. After a relativly short but productive time (Recording 12 hours a day ) Rikoche emerged with a hot little C.D. in there hands consisting of six songs written within the band covering all aspects of life from love to hate A copy was given to Channel Z and the two songs Runaway & Clock is ticking were played over the air for a period of time and with great responce from freinds and peirs They were shortly asked after this to be the resadint band at one of Auckland's newest bars BALZAC which was named after the french poet **** de Balzac. After pleasing the crowds there for a time Rikoche once again decided to move onto new ground and not let themselves become to planted in one place.
